I stopped into Ogam Chicken after a visit to my dealership – Silverhill Acura – which is just a couple blocks to the north. I was immediately greeted and given the choice of a couple tables to sit at. I was by myself, but I didn’t feel too out of place since I was sitting beside a guy who was also there on his own. In my older age I think I’m getting more comfortable eating at restaurants on my own… I’ll definitely have to figure it out soon since my trip to the East Coast is going to be a lot of me eating by myself!
I opted for something on the ‘BBQ’ menu – B1 – Spicy pan fried boneless chicken served with veggies, rice, 2 gyoza, macaroni salad, bean sprout salad and ginger salad for $15.90. I gotta say that the ginger salad doesn’t look super appetizing but it’s delicious. Their gyoza are okay – a little too crispy but the flavours are good. The tiny little spoonful of macaroni salad made me laugh (and I didn’t eat it because I wasn’t sure if there was dairy in it). The spicy chicken was definitely spicy! Whoa! My nose was running but it was super delicious and full of flavour. The chicken and its sauce are so good with the rice and its sauce. I was able to finish my meal this time (unlike the last time when I got the crispy fried chicken and found that it was just too rich).
If you’ve never been and are looking for something easy and full of flavour, stop into Ogam for a punch of Korean flavour.
